A true friend in the era of social media

With the rapid growth of technology and the use of social media in daily life, it seems that more on more people showing their wealth and glamorous habits from eating expensive food to extreme shopping. What makes it worst is that this lifestyle is copied and a lot of people think that it's normal. However, I believe that respecting people should be based on their honor, kindness, and trustworthiness. There are a lot of negative impacts of judging people based on their social status and marital possessions.

The first impact is that it encourages people to have a negative lifestyle like consumptive or hedonism. When one chooses to respect others because of wealth then, one will be drawn to follow the wealthy's people lifestyle such as go to expensive restaurants or buying clothes and bags. For instance, we can see in the Instagram lot of people are buying things that their celebrities endorsed, even though it can be very pricey and they don't have the money to afford it. Consequently, some will be in debt in order to continue that lifestyle.

Secondly, it hinders people from getting a trustworthy friend. As we can see, in the celebrity life, there is a lot of celebrity who backstabbed each other and spread rumors to one-another even though, they were friends. Judging by social status will blindside people from seeing a valuable friend - a friend that could go through thick and thin. On the contrary, choosing an honest, honorable friend will bring us comfort and joy.

In short, we should respect people based on their characters. Valuing people based on their character will bring us a good friend who will encourage good living and bring joy in our days. As a real friend will always be there for us. Indeed, there is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.
